About RCbikes.com (Modified on: Friday, November 8th 2008)
|
Welcome to the SoCal R/C Motorcycles club of San Diego. The primary goal of this site is to focus primarily on the R/C motorcycle scene. We have a wide variety of topics already covered and many more to go, such categories’ include, hop-ups, extreme modifications, general maintenance, fix-it tips and plenty of resource links. Of course the primary goal is to get the local R/C bike scene going, which will allow everyone to join together for sponsored race events and of course increase the general commrodery between bike enthusiasts. We desperately need to get a track built, but more members are required to accomplish a feat such as this. There is currently no monthly fee to join the club, but in the next few months this will change primarily because it takes money to build a dedicated 1/5th scale track.
At present time there are only a few r/c motorcycle related sites and its because of this that I decided to create rcbikes.com. Unfortunately, I haven’t been into R/C motorcycles for very long; approximately two years going, but just like you I’m always looking to expand my mind; knowledge is power and power costs money “right?”. Basically, what it comes down to is the fact that I enjoy passing information on to others. So with all my endeavors’ I hope you learn a trick or two on RCBIKES. Also, if you have some pertinent information you feel will benefit others then please pass it on. Good content is always hard to find and it is literlay impossible to keep track or follow all the rcbike trends, which is why feedback from you is basically required.
In Japan the remote control motorcycle scene is extremely popular and with a little luck the US will catch up quickly. Whenever possible I’m out running the bikes or making modifications, which always continues to shock people at the local parking lot. Most people feel the bikes are extremely hard to control, or equal to that of a helicopter, which unfortunately frightens many away. We need to publish information, spread the word and show everyone exactly what they really are missing out on. Trust me; in the next few years the R/C motorcycle community as a hole will explode with popularity. TV shows such as Inside R/C will seriously help spread the word and currently most of the major R/C magazines are now publishing articles and/or bike reviews.
So please browse the site and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me. I will be more then happy to answer any questions you may have. Site errors are more common then not, simply because; I am currently the only one working on the site. As sites grow; sometimes the errors increase exponentially. However, I’m a little out of the loop with website design, because the company that I currently work for has no connection in general to the internet. We don’t design websites or really do anything, which involves the net. Submit any site errors you locate and I will do my best to correct them in a timely manner. .
About me:
My name is Lorenzo;
Since birth I have always seemed to be attracted to electronics. My first computer was an Apple IIe, however the 286 sx16 would be the machine, which carved the way toward programming. My general vocabulary is mediocre,… but I’m able to code in Assembly, C, C++, and Delphi, plus a few other languages. I never went to school for programming, but managed to teach myself by reading everything and anything, including any code that I could get my hands on. Unfortunately, I had several bad years as a programmer and somehow became involved in computer viruses. Over several years I managed to create roughly 20 computer viruses, including dos and boot sector viruses, along with a few virus creation kits and/or macro viruses. But, hey.. I was young!
I also ran a bbs for roughly 9 ½ years, which was extremely popular and was reviewed
in a few electronic magazines. The internet rapidly depleted the number of boards in
the local area and in March of 2000 it was shutdown for good. During the bbs days
I managed to work for various computer companies, including an adult entertainment
firm. Its one thing to see naked women, its another thing to see naked woman and men
day after day; trust me it can get old quick. Duties normally included designing websites, coding scripts etc. Eventually, I managed to land a nice job in north county after the dot.com crash and I have been with them ever since.
In the late 80’s to early 90’s I lived in Colorado for a few years and wondered around
for several more years trying to find my thing; What is a thing?..Honestly, I have no idea, but I spent several years trying to figure that out; It was a time to travel and discover myself, but discovering yourself takes time and I’m still working on that one. Eventually moved back to sunny San Diego and have been basically settled; but I’m not married and
have no children.
As I mentioned before I’m very interested in motorcycles and I have owned several
big bikes, which include 00 SV650s, 02 TLR 1000, 03 GSXR 750, 04 GSXR 1000.
You can call me addicted to two wheels, big or small, but when I learned about
R/C motorcycles I was hooked. Well, that’s Lorenzo in short,… There are a few areas
which I left out, but if I didn’t leave anything out there would be no reason to meet me.
Anyways, I hope that you enjoy the site and be sure to check back for the updates that are sure to come. Feedback is also a necessity to keep content current and running smooth. The site is built for speed; not flash. Enjoy. Please e-mail any site errors that you find to: Webmaster Lorenzo

Super R/C Motorcycle Picture Archive
|
|
This is the Super R/C Motorcycle Picture Archive. I felt it would be appropriate to
have a specific archive that contains photos for both Electric and Nitro R/C Motorcycles.
The archive contains photos with only R/C bikes. Awesome paint schemes, hopped up
bikes and completely custom rides. There are a few online forums containing treads
related to R/C Bike pictures and I felt it would be better to create one large archive with
all of these photos. As I find additional pictures they will be added to the archive. If your
bike is listed in the archive and you prefer not to have it listed please e-mail me with the
file name and I will remove it. On the other hand if you would like to have your bike
added then send it on over...
